Together with partners and volunteers, the Prison Fellowship Romania Foundation supports the development of 24 disadvantaged communities. Our assistance program has been designed to identify and address their problems in a certain and effective way.

the situation of vulnerable communities is caused by many factors:
These challenges are the reasons why a vulnerable community often faces an increased risk of crime and social exclusion. Our mission is to provide certain support for these communities, to actively contribute to their development, but also to combat marginalization and social exclusion.

under this assistance program, we offer regular donations:
- basic foods
- sweets
- toys
- clothing
- footwear
- supplies
- medication
- medical support
- other furniture or items that may be useful.

The development of our community means a chance for a better life for the most vulnerable people.
a pilot assistance project in the Roma community in poiana, turda
The target group of this project is school-age children from the Roma community, students of the partner school.

The project objectives were to improve the quality of life and increase the participation of Roma students in school classes.
how?
How we set out to do this:
- Through donations of school supplies, clothing, footwear, and personal hygiene products.
- They improve their school results.
- Prizes are given to students who achieve the best learning outcomes.
In order to reward the students’ successes and to encourage other students, the foundation has awarded the students with the best school results in the last 5 years offering them:
- nearly 7,000 items of clothing
- new shoes (over 1500 pieces)
- gift packages (8,543 pieces)
>68.000 prizes
In 2021, 68 such awards were offered to the top 10 students in each class, at each level of education. Regarding school dropouts, there was a decrease of half compared to 2018, so in 2021 there were only 5 such cases.
the community’s future plans
Regarding this issue, we are working on a project to create classes with profiles in hospitality (chef and waiter) and beuaty industry (manicure and pedicure).
