15.5% of Romanian children drop out of school, the highest rate in the EU. In poor communities, it doubles. The reason is simple and painful: they don't have what they need. With 150 lei, a child gets a complete backpack for the first day of school.
Children don't skip school out of laziness. They skip because they don't have what they need and they're ashamed. We're there to change that.

You choose what to donate. We buy, pack, and deliver to the child.
Each package reaches a child identified through the program, not an anonymous list. Prices are fixed, negotiated by the foundation.

We've been on the front line of school dropout since 1993.
Prison Fellowship Romania is a public benefit foundation. We work with psychologists, social workers, and specialized staff in Romania's most disadvantaged communities.
We go house by house. We make sure every child gets to school, and stays there.
Prepare a class.
Equip 25 children who would otherwise walk into school afraid of being seen as poor. 25 × 350 lei = 8,750 lei, and the sponsorship counts as a tax credit against your profit tax, within 0.75% of turnover and 20% of the tax due. For most companies, the net cost is zero.

From the communities where we work

In August and September we need volunteers for sorting, packing, and distributing school supplies. A few hours make the difference for hundreds of children.
